The Best Cafes in Auckland for Coffee Groups

Finding a pram-friendly cafe can be hard enough (that’s why we built Roam!), but finding a cafe big enough for multiple prams & coffee groups is even harder.

So, we asked our community for their recommendations, and we’ve put together our definitive list of cafes in Auckland that are perfect for coffee group meet-ups with prams in tow.

Everything we’ve listed here has been tried and tested, has lots of space for prams, great coffee, and baby changing facilities.

Firstly, a shout-out to the most popular spot - Daily Bread, New Lynn

So many of you told us your favourite spot was Daily Bread in New Lynn, which is also one of our top picks. There were also lots of recommendations for other Daily Bread locations, so if there’s one near you, it’s also worth checking out. Other Roamie favourites include Stonefields, Botany and Pt Chev!

The Daily Bread in New Lynn is a standalone cafe (lots of them are inside garden centres) with truckloads of space for prams inside and out, a fenced play area with foam blocks, which are fun for crawlers and toddlers, easy parking and excellent coffee.

West Auckland

Kings Garden Cafe, Henderson

Kings Garden Cafe is attached to Kings Plant Barn, and has loads of space for prams in a leafy garden centre setting. Lots of space for big groups of prams, easy parking and good coffee make it a win in our books.

Cafe Korero, Ranui

The cafe itself isn’t the best for big groupd of prams, but they are attached to a community centre with coumfy couches and lots of space, and if you ask the cafe staff, your coffees can be brought out to you! They also have a neat playground for toddlers and preschoolers if you have older ones in tow, and a popular weekly playgroup held here (all the details can be found in the Roam app).

Fabric, Hobsonville Point

There’s plenty of space down the back of the restaurant and outside for prams, but we’d recommend booking ahead of time to secure one of those spaces. It’s also on the 5km Hobsonville Point loop walk, which is all pram-friendly and ideal if you have babies who will sleep in the pram!

Central Auckland

Cornwall Park Cafe, Epsom

The Cornwall Park Cafe (not the Bistro) is a great option for groups. They have lots of undercover seats outside with ample room for multiple prams, as well as heaps of outside space to grab a takeaway coffee and spread out a picnic blanket. Pair it with a leisurely walk around One Tree Hill to make it a half-day adventure.

Crave Cafe, Morningside/Sandringham

Crave Cafe has a large lounge area with room for prams at the back. It’s also another one we’d recommend booking ahead to ensure the couch spot is reserved for you. The food and coffee is spectacular too!

Crave Cafe, Morningside

East AUCKLAND

Filly Café, Sylvia Park

Filly Cafe in Sylvia Park has seats right next to a fenced play area, which is great for crawlers as it has a soft foam floor. It’s on the outside of the mall right next to the carpark, so there’s ample (easy) parking, and well-kitted parents rooms available in the mall.

The Gallery Cafe at Uxbridge, Howick

There’s limited options out East, but the Gallery Cafe at Uxbridge has lots of outdoor space for multiple prams around a table, and cosy lounge seating inside. It has a bit of an eclectic vibe, and you can be sure your coffee and food will be tasty.

South AUCKLAND

Songbird Cafe, Waiata Shores

Songbird is a great spot with lots of space inside and out to fit multiple prams around a table. The cabinet food and coffee are great too, and there’s baby changing facilities in the bathroom. It’s usually one we’d recommend to parents with older kids, since it’s right next to the Waiata Shores Playground, so it’s safe to say this is a very family-friendly option!

Farm House Cafe, Clevedon

Farm House Cafe is a great spot for coffee groups, and has large tables inside and out to accommodate multiple prams. They also have farm animals to see up close and a playground for toddlers and preschoolers.

Urban Soul, Karaka

Urban Soul in Karaka is also a nice choice out South. There’s space inside and out for prams, and they also have a fenced play area suitable for crawling babies and toddlers.

Urban Soul, Karaka

North AUCKLAND

Goodside, Smales Farm

Goodside in Smales Farm is a leafy food court shared by a number of eateries. There’s heaps of space for prams and strollers, and if you’re meeting with a group, everyone is guaranteed to find what they want to eat or drink.  There is a pram friendly entrance to the food court, as well as a bathroom with baby changing facilities.

If you’re wanting to make it a longer outing, Smith’s Bush is nearby and is a great pram friendly walk (you can find all the details in the Roam app!).

Sugar at Chelsea Bay, Chatswood

Chelsea Sugar Factory has beautiful grounds, and their Sugar cafe is an excellent spot on a sunny day. There’s heaps of space for prams outside, as well as ample space to put out a picnic rug to enjoy the sunshine. There’s also a small play area (perfect for preschoolers), and they have a great indoor interactive area if you have older kids!
